What is Pre-Listing Home Inspection?

A pre-listing home inspection is a technique used by sellers where the seller initiates a home inspection before listing the property on the market. This would give sellers an exact idea of the condition and the value of their home. If any problems arise from the home inspection report, sellers would inform potential buyers. This would leave sellers at a better advantage when negotiating.

If the sellers have multiple offers on the table, reviewing the pre-listing home inspection report with a potential buyer during negotiation time can increase the price offered and can potentially allow for a quick close. Usually, when this occurs the buyer would make the decision not to add a home inspection condition in the offer since the seller had already completed it.
